Summer Session recommended equipment:
If you are interested in joining our JOAD program please consult with our coaches before purchasing equipment to get a proper draw length measurement and to discuss upgrades based on your archer's current skill level.
This list is a guideline for a basic set-up for a beginning competition archer.
Compound Bow: Mission Menace 1 or 2, Hoyt Klash, or Diamond Prism
Rest: Whisker Biscuit or drop away rest (QAD is preferred)
Sight: Any sight with a level and round housing with a minimum of three pins
Peep Sight: any 3/16 or ¼. We prefer no tubing or tri-peeps, and no kisser buttons
Stabilizer: Dead Center Archery 10 or 12 inch, with a 1oz. 3pc weight pack. (This can be used later as a back bar as the archer progresses.)
Release: T.R.U. Ball Shooter Release. (Archer’s choice of size and color)
Quiver: Easton Hip Quiver QH100 with the Easton Belt
Arrows: We recommend Easton Aluminum for indoor shooting. Carbon arrows can crack and be dangerous for young archers. The size and length will be matched to the archers draw weight and length.
