Registration Guide

We participate in competitions held under the rules of two archery organizations:

The National Field Archery Association (NFAA)

USA Archery (also may be referred to as FITA or WA)

Each organization has different rules that determine which Style and Class the archer should register in. Here are the basic guidelines for each organization that apply to archers on our team:

NFAA tournaments are classified with the following format:

Class (age)- Gender- Style

Classes for NFAA are as follows:

Class                Age

Pee Wee           Under 9

Cub                   9-11

Youth                12-14

Young Adult     15-17

Adult                 18-49

The archer will participate in their current age class until their birthday. If a multi day event falls on the date of the birthday, the archer will shoot in the lower age class for the entire event.

Style is determined by the equipment the archer is using:

Archers with short stabilizers (less than 12" measured from the riser) and/ or fixed pin sights will register in Bowhunter Freestyle

Archers with long stabilizers longer than 12" and/ or sights with a scope and magnified lens will register in Freestyle

Olympic recurve archers will register in Freestyle Limited Recurve/ Longbow

For example a 13 year old female compound archer using a scope and or long stabilizer would register in:

YFFS (Youth Female Freestyle)
