Outdoor Events:

NFAA Field, Hunter, and Animal rounds

NFAA Field, Hunter, and Animal rounds are shot on a course at varied distances through a wooded course (similar to golf)

Depending on age group target distances will be from 30 feet to 80 yards on the course.

Archers will need a sight tape (with calculated marks) or multiple pins for aiming points at the different distances.

Because this event usually takes place on a wooded course, Archers should bring bug spray, water, binoculars, and a towel (for drying hands). Rain gear is also recommended when rain is forecast. Tournaments are not cancelled for rain unless lightning is present in the vicinity.

Food is available at most events. Archers should bring money to purchase lunch at the event and are also encouraged to bring water or their own lunch.

This event is not spectator friendly as parents are not allowed on the course at some events.

Full field and hunter rounds (28 targets) usually take 4-5 hours to complete

The Animal round usually takes about 2 1/2 hours to complete.
